Since 2023, the law has required all Luxembourg companies, regardless of size, to establish a policy guaranteeing the right to disconnect outside of working hours. For SMEs, this means formalizing clear rules (times when employees are unavailable, handling urgent requests, raising awareness among managers), often without the dedicated HR resources available to larger organizations. As of July 4, 2026, companies that have not implemented this policy will be subject to fines ranging from 251 to 25,000 euros, imposed by the Labor and Mines Inspection Authority (Inspection du Travail et des Mines).
